-Under the Real Estate Regulation Act, 2016 (RERA), homebuyers have a right to compensation from the builders, in case they deviate from their promises. They have certain remedies through which they can get compensation.
-Even though, RERA is an act formulated by Central Government, it is purely a state matter. Each state has formulated their own guidelines. Hence, you have to complain to the respective state RERA authorities only.
1.To file a complaint with the Authority, the complainant needs to visit the State’s official website. On the portal, search for the page of Complaint Registration, by clicking on the link placed under the same head.
3. While filing the complaint, homebuyers would be asked to submit their personal details including Name, Address, Contact details and Project details. Complainants can also attach supporting documents.
4.Once the form is fully filled, the complainant would need to pay Rs 1,000 for filing the complaint or Rs 5,000 in the case of filing complaints before Adjudicating Officer. Online payment mode is also available.
