4 Main Types Of Law In India

  • 1. Civil Laws- Civil Law deals with matters concerning property, contracts, family disputes, succession, etc.
  • 2. Criminal Laws- Criminal Law deals with all the matters relating to crimes committed against an individual, society or nation.
  • 3. Law of Torts- Tort is generally a breach of duty. Law of Torts deals with any act of omission or commission which damages the legally protected interest of an individual.
  • 4. Law of contracts- The Act defines contract as an agreement enforceable by Law.
  • -For instance, when a patient approaches a hospital or a medical agency, the relationship between them is one of contractual in nature.
