What does the Executive board of WHO do?

  • The Executive board consists of 34 members with proven record in field of health. These members are elected by World Health Assembly.
  • Members tenure is of three-years.
  • The Executive board meets twice a year. Once in January, for the main meet. Second time in May for a short meeting.
  • Their main function is to put into effect the policies and decisions made by Health Assembly, to advise and facilitate its work.
