Chandrayaan-2 is India's planned second mission to the moon,It's a follow-up mission from the Chandrayaan-1 mission that assisted in confirming the presence of water/hydroxyl on the moon in 2009.
Chandrayaan-2, India’s second lunar mission, has three modules namely Orbiter,Lander (Vikram)&Rover (Pragyan). The Orbiter and Lander modules will be interfaced mechanically and stacked together as an integrated module.
The Rover is housed inside the Lander. After launch by GSLV MK-III, the integrated module will reach Moon orbit using Orbiter propulsion module. Subsequently, Lander will separate from the Orbiter to carry out experiment
The payloads will collect scientific information on lunar topography, mineralogy, elemental abundance, lunar exosphere and signatures of hydroxyl and water-ice.
Chandrayan 1 had a lunar probe and a impactor. It means that a probe hits the moon after detaching from orbiter but does not locomote. This type of landing is called hard landing.
Chandrayaan-2 is India's planned second mission to the moon,It's a follow-up mission from the Chandrayaan-1 mission that assisted in confirming the presence of water/hydroxyl on the moon in 2009.
It will be launch during the window of July 09, to July 16, 2019, with an expected Moon landing on September 06, 2019.

But Chandrayan 2 in a lander/rover so after the probe hits the ground a rover can move around the moon. This type of landing is called soft landing.
If India succeed it, will become the fourth nation to accomplish soft landing on moon after US,USSR and China.
It will have will have 13 payloads of ISRO and one passive experiment from American space agency NASA.
