Ram Nath Kovind was nominated as the presidential nominee by the ruling party, and won the 2017 Indian presidential election against Meira Kumar.
Ram Nath Kovind won the election with 65.65%( 7,02,044) of the total votes, while his opponent, Meira Kumar got 34.35%(3,67,314) of all the votes.
Ram Nath Kovind will assume office on 25 July 2017.
