The Charminar’s historical age is 450 years which makes it quite oldest monument in India. ; The legendary king QuliQutub Shah had decided to construct this monument as a remembrance when the harmful plague was got finished ion the city; Charminar was the very first multi-story building which was built in Hyderabad along with all the ancient features.;

Charminar was the very first multi-story building which was built in Hyderabad along with all the ancient features.
A mosque is located at the western end of the open roof. The remaining part of the roof served as a court during the reign of Qutb Shahi.
The actual mosque occupies the top floor of the four-storey structure.
There is also an underground tunnel connecting the Golconda fort to Charminar, possibly intended as an escape route for the Qutb Shahi ruler
The clock on the four cardinal directions was added in 1889
The spiral staircase inside the minarets has 149 steps leading to the top with 12 landings
